A commitment that starts from the factories

A COMMITMENT THAT STARTS FROM THE FACTORIES

Coca-Cola HBC Italia is confirmed as one of the most important companies in the beverage sector in Italy. A pride but also a precise mission and responsibility towards the environment and the communities in which we operate.
Our commitment starts from the plants, where we follow the highest levels of attention from water management and the correct use of energy sources and then extends throughout our logistics and commercial chain, optimizing our consumption and eliminating waste.

WATER

Water is the most precious commodity and for those of us who work in the soft drinks and beverage sector this is even more true. To ensure the correct use of water resources at all stages of our production process, we have decided to certify our factories according to the Alliance For Water Stewardship (AWS) standard, which recognizes and rewards companies committed to the responsible management of water resources following accurate checks and audits conducted by third-party certification bodies.

AWS AWS

The achievement of this certification is based on 5 main pillars:

  • Understanding water dependencies and impacts
  • Mitigate operational and supply chain water risks
  • Ensure water procedures and managers
  • Building relationships with local water-related stakeholders
  • Addressing shared challenges with other stakeholders sourcing from the same watershed

RESPONSIBLE MANAGEMENT AT ALL LEVELS: THE WATER CHAMPIONS

A further commitment to safeguarding water resources in our plants in Marcianise, Oricola, Nogara and Fonti del Vulture translates into the creation of "water teams", groups made up of at least three people in charge of guaranteeing the water supply by monitoring consumption and at the same time identifying projects for saving the resource, with a view to constant improvement from an environmental impact point of view. Each team is led by a "water champion", belonging to the Mantainance or QSE (Quality, Safety & Environment) area and identified by the management of the plants. The reference structure is "officialized" both outside and inside the sites so as to have clear points of reference on the subject, and is always in contact with the central QSE function - both with the Country QSE Manager and with the Country Environmental Manager - who in turn have the task of coordinating activities and reporting risks and opportunities to management.

ENERGY SOURCES

Always with a view to reducing our environmental impact, we adopt good practices and cutting-edge industrial technologies within our factories that allow us to continuously improve our industrial performance, saving the use and consumption of energy sources. In fact, 73% of the total energy we use comes from renewable sources with a rate of 100% for electricity
Our commitment also continues on the market with over 82% of our display cabinets equipped with the highest quality standards to ensure minimum energy consumption.

LOGISTICS

Our presence and our continuous support to customers are among our strengths and to reconcile this need with the reduction of CO2 emissions we have adopted a logistics strategy that allows us to make our movements more and more efficient thanks to the round trip mode that balances both delivery and collection of goods, thus avoiding empty trips.
