The Oricola plant, in the province of L'Aquila, represents the union between innovation and tradition, two very important values for our country. The importance of Abruzzo for Coca-Cola HBC Italia is also confirmed by the important economic and employment implications generated by Coca-Cola in the region.
Located in the Cavaliere plain, on the border between Abruzzo and Lazio, the Oricola site has been active since 1988.
A jewel of contemporary industry, this plant was among the first production sites in Italy to use 100% recyclable PET and after more than 30 years it was among the first in Italy to use 100% recycled PET for soft drinks, confirming itself as a center of technological excellence and sustainability.
In 2024, an investment of over 42 million euros was announced for the implementation of 2 new lines for the production of cans, the first in the history of the plant, which will become fully operational by the end of the year.
The new machines, equipped with the best technology available on the market, will also allow the reduction of more than 25% in the energy intensity needed to bottle a liter of beverage.
In line with the company's objectives, the site stands out for its particular attention to reducing the impact on the environment in which it operates, thanks to the activation of photovoltaic panels and a cogeneration plant that allows the energy necessary for the operation of the production lines to be generated independently.
