COCA-COLA PRESENTS THE BEVERAGE DISTRIBUTION MODEL FOR THE MILANO CORTINA 2026 WINTER OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC GAMES

Not only a sporting challenge, but also an opportunity to accelerate and enhance the company’s journey toward its sustainability goals

Milan, 13 January 2026 – For the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, Coca-Cola has developed, in collaboration with the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, an integrated model for the distribution of its beverages that combines logistics, packaging innovation, and separate waste collection systems. This approach is designed to address the complexity of an event spread across multiple locations, while ensuring operational efficiency and a strong focus on packaging sustainability.

HOW WE SERVE OUR PRODUCTS

For decades, Coca-Cola in Italy has been working to reduce the environmental footprint of its packaging and production processes, investing in innovations in formats and materials to help reduce waste, and adopting solutions tailored to market needs and to the country’s waste collection and recycling infrastructure.

Since 2023, in Italy all plastic bottles in the locally produced soft drinks portfolio have been made with 100% recycled plastic (rPET), excluding labels and caps. On the occasion of the Winter Games, Coca-Cola has taken a further step forward with the 500 ml Lurisia Bolle and Stille bottle, the Official Water of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, which is now available in 100% rPET, excluding label and cap.

During the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games, the Coca-Cola product portfolio offered to consumers will consist of bottles made, excluding labels and caps, from 100% recycled plastic. The use of recycled plastic meets the need to combine the highest quality and environmental standards with the safety measures required for major sporting events. Furthermore, when properly disposed of, this material can be recovered and potentially recycled into new bottles.
