Milan, June 13, 2024 – Coca-Cola HBC Italia, the leading bottler of The Coca-Cola Company branded products in Italy, today published "Let's celebrate the world of tomorrow together", its 20th Sustainability Report, revised by Deloitte & Touche and prepared according to the GRI Standards (Global Reporting Initiative) international reporting parameters. Over the past 20 years, the company has reported on progress in terms of social and environmental sustainability, anticipating issues that are now at the center of public interest, such as the circularity of packaging and the enhancement of skills. A milestone that represents a starting point, as evidenced by the more than 70 million euros of investments for 2024 in factories and along the value chain.
"Since 2004, we have been putting our sustainability commitments and achievements on paper, aware of the responsibility we have towards consumers, customers, partners, institutions and the communities in which we operate." says Giangiacomo Pierini, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Director of Coca-Cola HBC Italia. "With over 2 thousand employees, more than 1300 suppliers and 6 production plants in 5 regions, we are part of the Italian economy and its social fabric and, if given the opportunity to do so without the burden of penalizing taxation, we will continue to promote our way of doing sustainable business with transparency, in factories and along the entire value chain, as shown by the figures invested in Italy in 2024".
Of the 70 million euros planned for 2024, about 20 are dedicated to innovations in factories, in areas such as people's health and safety, water and energy efficiency, green mobility and packaging circularity. Investments also go to the sustainability of the supply chain, such as the 11 million dedicated to the purchase of new eco-friendly sales tools, such as refrigerators, for more than 100 thousand bars, pizzerias, restaurants and supermarkets in Italy.
Sustainability for Coca-Cola is developed in three directions: environment, people and communities and is embodied in projects and results reported in the report, which can be consulted on www.lanostraricetta.it.
