We are committed to promoting the responsible consumption of our alcoholic beverage brands.
In addition to our Internal Responsible Marketing Policy for Coca-Cola HBC Alcoholic Beverages, Coca-Cola HBC joined the Global Standards Coalition in November 2023. This initiative aims to prevent underage alcohol consumption and reduce harmful alcohol use through stakeholder engagement, training tools and best practices.
The Global Standards Coalition is led by the International Alliance of Responsible Drinking (IARD).
Our responsible marketing policy for alcoholic beverages is described below.
Coca-Cola HBC's Responsible Alcoholic Beverage Marketing Policy is designed to provide clear and consistent guidance to all employees regarding our standards for responsible marketing, advertising, and promotion of alcohol products that the company owns, distributes, or sells on behalf of its business partners.
The Policy shall be strictly adhered to in the same manner as the codes, policies and commitments relating to Coca-Cola HBC's operations and activities with respect to the soft drinks we manufacture and distribute, so as to reflect the company's high corporate standards, core values and social responsibility commitments.
Coca-Cola HBC's Responsible Alcoholic Beverage Marketing Policy applies to all marketing activities, including, but not limited to:
All marketing activities must comply with applicable laws in countries where Coca-Cola HBC sells and distributes alcoholic beverages. Commercial communications relating to alcoholic beverages must also comply with the applicable provisions of the guidelines agreed by the industry in each country, regardless of the medium used. This includes print, electronic/digital media, posters, packaging, promotions, sponsorships and other promotional activities.
Any complaints or criticisms from anyone regarding the marketing and promotion of Coca-Cola HBC's alcoholic products should be immediately reported to the local Institutional Affairs & Sustainability and Legal functions to take any appropriate or necessary action.
Coca-Cola HBC countries that sell and distribute alcoholic beverages must establish regular training programs for all personnel involved in sales, merchandising, consumer marketing, commercial marketing, customer planning, communications, and R&D of alcoholic beverage brands.
