Sesto San Giovanni, 20 February 2023Coca-Cola HBC Italia, the main bottler of The Coca-Cola Company brand products in Italy, has appointed Maria Teresa Sorrentino as Plant Manager of the Roccaforte Mondovì (Cuneo) plant, dedicated to the bottling of Lurisia products and part of the Group following the acquisition completed in December 2019.

Maria Teresa, after significant experience in production, since the end of 2022 has the task of consolidating the process of adapting the plant to Coca-Cola HBC standards, with particular attention to improving the production performance and sustainability of the site, as well as the development of the staff in force in the plant, a strategic industrial reality for the territory that is constantly renewing, thanks to the 10 million euro industrial investment plan that started in 2020.

"I am excited about this new professional challenge and to be able to lead a team of talented people." Maria Teresa Sorrentino, Director of the Lurisia plant in Roccaforte Mondovì (CN) said: "We will work together in a path based on mutual listening and sharing of objectives to ensure the sustainable development of the site and optimize production performance".

Maria Teresa's is just the latest in a series of key roles in Coca-Cola HBC Italia held by female figures and she is the second female plant manager after Monica Rispoli in Marcianise (CE). Currently - compared to the international goal of 50% women in managerial positions by 2025 - Coca-Cola HBC Italia already has 43% women in these roles, further demonstrating that company policies relating to career plans, performance management and selection are guided by talent, merit and skills.

Coca-Cola HBC Italia's commitment to female leadership, particularly in technical roles, is also reflected outside the organization, with projects such as "Girls in STEM", the initiative of Coca-Cola HBC Italia, Coca-Cola HBC Italia Foundation and Junior Achievement Italia to combat gender stereotypes in STEM disciplines, in which Maria Teresa has already had the opportunity to participate as a mentor and make her own contribution to bringing young girls closer to technical-scientific study paths. The underrepresentation of women in educational paths related to STEM has in fact important consequences in terms of gender inequality and the commitment against this gap also passes through the strengthening of these disciplines at all levels of education.
