Milan, 13 October 2025. Coca-Cola, present in Italy since 1927, confirms its leadership in the country in terms of economic and employment impact in the soft drinks and beverages sector. This figure takes on special significance on the eve of the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, which Coca-Cola will support as the longest-standing partner of the Olympic Movement and as Presenting Partner of the Olympic Flame Relay that will travel across Italy starting in December 2025.
According to the biennial study conducted by SDA Bocconi School of Management on the socio-economic impact of Coca-Cola Italia, Coca-Cola HBC Italia, and Sibeg, the three companies representing the Company in Italy, Coca-Cola generated and distributed total resources amounting to 1 billion 142 million euros in 2024. This value, which includes purchases of goods and services, investments, wages, taxes, and social security contributions, is equivalent to 0.05 percent of Italy’s GDP.
Coca-Cola also confirms its position as the leading employer in the soft drinks and beverages industry. Thanks to its widespread presence from northern to southern Italy, with plants and offices in seven regions (Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Abruzzo, Campania, Basilicata, and Sicily) and an in-house sales force operating across the country, in 2024 the total employment impact, including direct and indirect jobs, grew significantly, generating 29,840 jobs. This is equivalent to 0.12 percent of national employment and represents a 10 percent increase compared to the 2022 estimate of 26,738. Of these, 2,688 are direct employees and 26,704 are indirect workers employed along the value chain. For every direct employee, more than 11 jobs are generated within the Italian economy. Taking into account the country’s family structure, based on ISTAT 2024 data, around 64,000 people benefit from the income generated by Coca-Cola, an increase of 6.7 percent compared to 2022.
