COCA-COLA HBC ITALIA AT THE RIMINI 2023 MEETING WITH A SPACE DEDICATED TO SUSTAINABILITY AND RECYCLING

From 20 to 25 August, the company will be present with a stand full of initiatives to involve visitors on the importance of daily gestures to be more sustainable

Rimini, 21 August 2023Coca-Cola HBC Italia, the leading bottler of The Coca-Cola Company brand products in Italy, returns to the Rimini Meeting, scheduled from 20 to 25 August, with a space entirely dedicated to sustainability. At Hall A1 of the Rimini exhibition centre, all visitors will be able to experience first-hand the company's commitment to promoting sustainable and inclusive progress and participate in "Missione Coca-Cola", an exciting quiz show on the issues of sustainability and the circular economy and an opportunity to explore these issues and answer the most common doubts.

For the most active participants, the prize will be branded gadgets, discount coupons and tasty honey-based surprises, the result of the special project launched on the occasion of the last edition of the company's Sustainability Report "The Choice to Look Away" and which saw bees as protagonists. Coca-Cola HBC Italia has in fact adopted a beehive for each of the regions where its six production plants and headquarters are located, to protect 1.8 million bees, which will help safeguard the biodiversity of the territory and allow the reproduction of plant organisms, such as sugar and citrus fruits necessary for many of Coca-Cola's drinks. Inside the space there will also be a Coripet eco-compactor where visitors will be able to actively contribute to the collection of PET bottles and discover the properties of this precious material.

"We are happy to be back in attendance at the Rimini Meeting 2023 with a stand that allows visitors to immerse themselves in our 19th Sustainability Report." Giangiacomo Pierini, Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability of Coca-Cola HBC Italia, declares: "Sustainability is an increasingly important issue for public opinion and with our presence we want to help all visitors clarify the most common doubts and questions, also allowing them to actively support us in our goal of increasing the collection and recycling of PET beverage packaging as much as possible."

An initiative, that of "Coca-Cola Mission", which aims to involve the public in a playful way, raising awareness of daily practices capable of making a difference in building a future where economic and social growth go hand in hand with the protection of the Planet. A vision that is embodied in the ambitious path undertaken by Coca-Cola HBC Italia to reduce the environmental impact of its activities and support local communities and employees: in the last 10 years in Italy, the company has invested about half a billion in projects and initiatives aimed at promoting an innovation process that is always attentive to sustainability and the circular economy. The reopening of the CCH CircularPET factory in Gaglianico (Biella) has also been part of this sense, which has become an innovative plant capable of transforming up to 30,000 tons of PET per year into 100% recycled plastic (rPET) preforms destined for bottling the Coca-Cola beverage portfolio in the country.
