Nogara, 7 September 2019 - Coca-Cola HBC Italia, the main bottler of The Coca-Cola Company brand products in Italy, today inaugurated the second aseptic production line - for the bottling of iced teas, isotonic and vegetable drinks - of the Nogara (VR) plant, the largest in Europe in terms of production capacity. The investment is only the latest in an industrial plan of over 100 million euros destined for the factory in the last ten years that have made it a cutting-edge industrial hub also in terms of sustainability. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was also an opportunity to talk about Coca-Cola's economic and employment impact in the region, which emerged from research carried out this year by SDA Bocconi School of Management: the company distributed more than 111 million euros locally in 2018 with almost 2,500 people who depend partially or totally on the income generated by Coca-Cola.
The day of celebration, which was attended by employees and their families, opened with speeches by Zoran Bogdanovic - CEO of Coca-Cola HBC, Vitaliy Novikov - CEO of Coca-Cola HBC Italia and Alex Zigliara - General Manager of Coca-Cola Italia and saw the presence of representatives of Italian industry such as Michele Bauli - President of Confindustria Verona and Licia Mattioli - Vice President for Internationalization of Confindustria as well as representatives of local institutions such as Elisa De Berti - Councilor for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport of the Veneto Region and Flavio Massimo Pasini, Mayor of Nogara.
"Italy is one of our largest markets, where there are still many opportunities for growth to be seized." says Zoran Bogdanovic, CEO of Coca-Cola HBC "Nogara's all-Italian excellence plays a central role in our strategy as a 24/7 Total Beverage Partner, i.e. a company able to offer consumers products suitable for every moment of the day, from breakfast to after dinner".
"The Verona plant has been an integral part of Coca-Cola's Italian history for more than 40 years," says Vitaliy Novikov, General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Italia "Our company is also present with production sites in Abruzzo, Campania and Basilicata: if we add to the 100 million euros invested in Nogara, also those destined for other factories, We exceed 200 million invested".
The new line is the latest of the company's industrial investments made in our country, for a total of over 220 million euros in the last ten years, of which almost 45 million in 2019 alone, destined for the 4 Italian production sites.
The Nogara plant is also a flagship in terms of sustainability thanks to the investments received over the years. Thanks to a modern cogeneration plant, it uses electricity from a cogeneration plant capable of producing electricity, heat and chilled water, in such quantities as to make it potentially self-sufficient. In addition, it uses photovoltaic panels that allow a reduction of 300 tons of CO2 per year and, compared to the past.
