Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI)
Coca Cola HBC is the world sustainability leader in the beverage industry, topping the Dow Jones World and Europe Sustainability Indexes for beverage companies for four years in a row - 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. In 2018, we remained listed among the top companies. We’ve been included in the DJSI every year since 2008 – recognition of our focus on continuously improving our sustainability performance. Launched in 1999, the DJSI is considered a global benchmark in corporate sustainability.
In 2018, 2,686 companies were assessed in the SAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). All companies whose score is within a range of 1% to 5% of the industry’s top performing company’s score receive the SAM Silver Class distinction. We are proud to be awarded Silver Class based on our 2018 score.
SAM is used to market services and products of business units within RobecoSAM, which specialize in providing ESG data, ratings, and benchmarking. Operating under SAM are two specialist business areas: “ESG Ratings”, which is responsible for the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), from the methodology behind the assessment, to the annual data collection, through to the evaluation and scoring of individual companies, and also contributing the data to S&P Dow Jones Indices for their indices.
Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Indices
In 2018, CDP awarded Coca Cola HBC a Global A rating for climate and B for water. CDP is a global not-for-profit organisation which provides a natural capital disclosure system through which companies report, manage and share vital environmental information.
Coca‑Cola HBC has been continuously listed on the FTSE4Good Index since 2001. This series of indices is designed to measure the performance of companies listed on the London Stock Exchange that demonstrate strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices.
