Sustainability ratings

Coca‑Cola Hellenic Bottling Company is leader in sustainability.

Typical waterside environment in Slovakia
Less carbon emissions, less water used

For the third year in a row, in 2016 Coca‑Cola HBC was named "European and global leader in sustainability" according to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), one of the most credible and widely recognised sustainability rankings for companies.

It is a "threepeat" that acknowledges our robust and transparent sustainability performance. In 2015, we continued to reduce our environmental footprint, posting a double digit decrease of our carbon emissions. At the same time, we further reduced the amount of water used for producing a litre of beverage, as well as the amount of packaging materials, despite higher production and sales.

As confirmation of our commitment to environmental accountability, Coca‑Cola HBC received an "A" rating from The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the only global system for companies to measure and share vital environmental information.

Coca‑Cola HBC was also one of the first 12 companies in the world to establish science-based carbon reduction targets for both direct and indirect operations. We support the global action to reach the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations, putting a price on water and carbon and committing to accounting for sustainability.

We were also in eighth place of 100 companies included in the Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE 100) Index, and first among companies in the beverage sector for reporting on CO2 emissions, according to the classification compiled by Carbon Clear.
