According to the results of a study conducted in 2017 by the SDA Bocconi School of Management on the impact generated by Coca‑Cola on the economy and employment in Italy, we represent the first reality of the Soft Drinks Industry and of the Beverage one, generating resources for the entire Italian economic system.

Our economic impact

In 2015 Coca‑Cola generates €813 million in resources, a figure equivalent to 0.05% of GDP.

We are the first player in the Soft Drinks sector

The resources distributed by Coca‑Cola represent 32.6% of total resources generated by the business sector of soft drinks (i.e. € 2,852 million), and precisely:

  • 42.7% of the resources that this group allocated to Families,
  • 31.7% of resources allocated to Enterprises,
  • 21.7% of resources allocated to the State.

We are the first player in the Beverages sector

The resources distributed by Coca‑Cola represent 7.2% of the total resources of the business sector of beverages (i.e. € 13,001 million) and precisely:

  • 10.4% of the resources that this group allocated to Families,
  • 6.8% of resources allocated to Enterprise,
  • 5.4% of resources allocated to the State.

Our workforce

Coca‑Cola has a significant impact on employment, with more than 2,000 direct employees and about 26,000 indirect jobs provided by our supply chain: this amounts to 0.1 percent of the total workforce in Italy. Plus, in comparison with the industry average, we offer a higher salary both to middle-managers/white collar workers and to blue collar workers.

Our social responsibility initiatives

We carry out projects promoting education, environmental protection, well-being and local cultural events. Furthermore, we collaborate with many non-profit organisations to implement cause related marketing initiatives.
